The hype for micellar waters going around is crazy, ever since Bioderma showed its face! Every beauty blogger/guru and their mothers have one at this stage! I know I'm a bit behind on the bandwagon with this review, but I left it a while to do this one as I wanted to test it out and see if it was actually any good.
I have got to be honest and say I love this Micellar Solution! Although I honestly have nothing to compare it to. I've never tried Bioderma! (Eeek.) Or any other micellar waters. But at the moment, I'll be sticking to this L'Oréal one.
It claims to - 1. dissolve makeup, 2. unclog pores & remove impurities and 3. tone and soothe the skin. Basically it's a cleanser and a toner all in one!
Yes, it does dissolve my makeup, super easily! It takes barely any effort to remove most makeup. As for unclogging pores, not so much. Well not for me anyways. And it does soothe the skin. I honestly think that it's amazing, especially for the morning if you're in a rush, or if at night time you're too lazy to do a full facial twice, thrice or ten times!
You just get a tiny bit of this on a cotton pad and wipe it over your face. (A little of this product, honestly goes a long way!) It usually takes me three cotton pads to remove my makeup. I do my whole face and go over my eyes a little bit, but I do my eye makeup properly with a separate cotton pad. It does take a bit of extra time on the eyes, depending on what sort of products you have on. I then go over my whole face once more with a new cotton pad.
My skin usually feels super soft afterwards. Although I found after a while it made underneath my eyes seem a little tight, only slightly. But that's nothing a little bit of moisturiser can't fix! I always put moisturiser on afterwards anyway so this wasn't a big deal for me.
Another main factor for me is that it has no scent, which is why it's suitable for sensitive skin. I love this because I can have sensitive skin at times, and this doesn't irritate it at all!
One thing I have to admit I absolutely hate, is the packaging! Not so much the bottle itself as I find it easy to store, but the top where the product comes out. It can be so messy sometimes and you have to be careful when pouring the it out. This is easily fixable though. Transfer it to another bottle!
Anyways it's cheap as chips so I can't complain. I will definitely be repurchasing this product and I would recommend it to anybody! You can pick it up in Boots and Tesco for pretty cheap and I'm sure many other stores stock it as well.
Have you tried micellar water before?
